This island is known as prison island,is the one amongst of very interesting island in zanzibar where the cups of tourists prefer most to visit here and why not you too.
If you want to visit for the island on your trip ,this tour is for you, prison island is only about 5 kilometers north west from Stone town.It is recognized by four different names,you will know all of them in your trip, as your local tour guider will explain to you, you will know the reasons why it has four names.The island it self has a very interesting history since 1860 untill now, in the island you will learn history about zanzibar, slavery and defferent types of diseases, which deciminated people in 19 century.
Also in the island you will have the opportunity to meet and feed the oldest giant tortoise whose origin from sychelles since 19 century till now , on this island you can see the old prison, the tortoises, the peacocks and dick dick (small antelope).

- The island is fringed with a beautiful coral reef, ideal for snorkelling, blue crystal water turquoise for swimming and has a lovely white sand beach for sunbathing

- Pregnant ladies, people with back problems, children under 3 years, Senior citizens with heart conditions are not advisable for the Desert Safari Trip.
- Seats are not pre-allocated and so provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Itinerary
Our Driver will pick you up from hotel at 8:00am after the breakfast then heading direct to the stone town, after that take a boat ride from Stone Town, straight to the illustrious historic prison of Changuu Island, known commonly as Prison Island. Explore the ancient prison ruins which were erected by the British colony of Zanzibar.
Then, visit a sanctuary for Aldabra tortoises – one of the largest tortoises in the world, weighing up to 200 kilos, also known to be one of the longest-living creatures in the world. Learn about these giant land tortoises that were brought to Zanzibar from Seychelles.
Also spot peacocks with large and brilliant feathers which have made them the symbol of beauty, royalty, and good fortune for Prison Island. Interact with these amazing creatures and take pictures.
At the end of the tour , you will get back on the boat and sail you off to Nakupenda Sandbank.
